Sunbelt CounterSpy - Software Anti spyware review

Because of the growing number of security incidents on spyware on the internet today, it is today regarded as being "common practice" to use anti-spyware/anti-adware software on each computer that connects to the world wide web. Spyware and adware software typically installs without notice while navigating to a Web site without scruples, with sharing of file or by downloading freeware programs. Since it is not a virus, spyware most cannot be detected by antivirus software. Spyware can be extremely dangerous because it collects personal information on your subject and transmits it to the person that created it. The information collected can be as benign as the type of sites you visit or dangerous than sensitive personal information such as passwords, numbers of account or the names and addresses. Adware usually collects information about your internet browsing habits, and spyware generally flies of sensitive information. Spyware are often used to steal banking information, numbers, credit card or of any identity to a person. If you've spent any time surfing the net in all, the chances are that your computer is infected with adware or spyware.

In an effort to decide what anti-spyware product to buy, I decided to take the counter spy Sunbelt Software for a free 14 day trial. To really put this software to the test, I installed on my work computer which is protected by an expensive firewall of Cisco, Mcafee Antivirus (updated daily), and Windows updates. I do very little web-surfing at work and never download anything except technical software such as antivirus, spyware solvents, firewall software, etc....

Following the advice of my own never download software from anywhere except "official" site of the manufacturer, I visited Sunbelt Software site to download the free trial of their highly recommended spyware remover - CounterSpy software.

The process of installing CounterSpy is an easy interface of the super Wizard requires simple "Yes" or "no" answers. As soon as the rapid installation is complete, the CounterSpy update service downloads the latest definitions of spyware and verified software for software updates. Following installation, CounterSpy invites you to scan your system for spyware. This process takes about 20 minutes on my computer.

To my surprise, counter spy found only one instance of spyware and 74 instances of adware on my computer. Provided me a very detailed list, including the element name suspect, but also a good explanation of the problem. You can access deeper bottom by clicking on the sign "+" that appears next to each item of spyware, and see all the registry keys and file directories that spyware tied himself to. After consideration of the item of spyware on my PC, I saw that parts of it were attached to 60 three directories and registry keys. No wonder spyware is difficult to remove! All the advertising software CounterSpy found on my PC was in the form of cookies, and a detailed explanation is given on each of them. A large part of the adware was the cause of pop-ups that I find so tedious. CounterSpy allows you to choose what you want to do with all the spyware and adware software that it finds, and the default choice is to delete, what I did.

I tried the other spyware software anti such as Spyware Doctor, eTrust Pest Patrol, Spybot S & d, and McAfee. I found Sunbelt Spyware counter among the easiest to install and configure, and it seems less system resources than Spyware Doctor, who often hangs my computer at home. Only $ 19.95 per year, with renewal rates only $9.95 per year, Sunbelt Spyware counter is the best value for money. CounterSpy has won many awards by prestigious companies such as PC World, Tucows and C Net - it's definitely an anti spyware program worth considering!
